Wendy Williams believes her guardianship was triggered because of her son, Kevin Hunter Jr. — whom she calls a “horrible person” to her after mishandling her money. However, she does clarify that he’s not really a bad person and she still loves him.

This weekend, Wendy Williams will be heading to see her father in Miami, Florida for his 94th birthday. This will not only mark the first time she’s been able to socialize since her son’s college graduation, but the first time she’ll be spending time with her son; whom Wendy Williams believes took advantage of her financially, resulting in her being placed into a court-ordered conservatorship with a guardian named Sabrina Morrisey.

Appearing on TMZ’s Harvey Levin and defense attorney Mark Geragos’ podcast, ‘2 Angry Men,’ Wendy was asked if it would be weird to see her son after making her revelation on TMZ’s new documentary, ‘Saving Wendy.’ Williams doesn’t bash her son, but she did make it clear that she’s looking forward to seeing Kevin Jr. despite her claims.

Wendy Williams Says Her Son Is ‘A Horrible Person To Her’ After Taking Advantage Of Her Bank Accounts

In the ‘Saving Wendy’ documentary, Williams says she was put under guardianship after her bank, Wells Fargo, noticed a number of large unauthorized withdrawals being made. Williams believes her son and others were to blame, but Kevin reportedly says he did nothing wrong. He denies the withdrawals. However, Williams’ guardianship judge appears to side with the media icon.

In September 2024 court documents obtained by TMZ read:

“While Mr. Hunter, [her son, Kevin] apologized for past mistakes and inappropriate behavior, the court is not convinced that he can keep her safe and wouldn’t willingly or unwittingly expose her to financial exploitation.”

In the ‘Saving Wendy‘ documentary, Williams says, “My son is a good person, but at this point, he is a horrible person to me.” She adds, “It’s the way he moves with other people. You know, ‘What is going on with these other people at my apartment in Miami? What are you doing? You spent on what? And what is going on at Wells Fargo?’”

She adds that her son isn’t “the only one” taking advantage of her finances. But, Wendy Williams confirms that her son did “overstep his boundaries” and “inappropriately” used her money without notifying her. She continues, “Like, is he stealing from me? Look, all I know is that, in terms of what I’m dealing with, this is still going on. Because that’s when my money got frozen at Wells Fargo, thank God. No more money stealing from my son and the other people.”
