The Alaska Airlines flight attendant who lost her job over a viral twerking video is now speaking out.
As we previously reported, flight attendant Nelle Diala was vibing out, dancing in the aisle of an empty plane before an early morning flight. She decided to post the video on TikTok, just having fun and celebrating a milestone in her career. But instead of just racking up likes, the clip ended up costing her everything—Alaska Airlines fired her.
Diala had only been working at the airline for six months, and she was twerking to celebrate the end of her probationary period. But corporate wasn’t feeling it. They told her she violated their social media policy, and that was enough to let her go.

‘I Didn’t Think the Way I Was Dancing Would Be Deemed Inappropriate’
Diala sat down with Inside Edition to set the record straight. She made it clear she wasn’t trying to be unprofessional—she was just hyping herself up for the day and feeling good about her accomplishment.
“I just didn’t think that my video and my post and the way I was dancing would be deemed as inappropriate,” she told the news outlet.
Despite her innocent intentions, Alaska Airlines didn’t hesitate to cut her loose just six months into the job. She was in shock.
“I never thought a single moment would cost me everything,” Diala said. She called out today’s overly sensitive society, questioning why something as simple as dancing would get her fired.
“Can’t even be yourself anymore, without the world being so sensitive. What’s wrong with a little twerk before work? People act like they never did that before.”
Diala Launches a GoFundMe After Losing Her Job
Now that she’s out of work, Diala is hustling to stay afloat. She launched a GoFundMe campaign to help support herself while searching for a new job and investing in her personal businesses.
So far, the fundraiser has only pulled in $182 towards a $12,000 goal, but she remains hopeful.
Diala’s Side Hustles Are Thriving
Even before her termination, Diala was on her grind. She owns a lingerie business and a dessert enterprise, which she regularly promotes on social media. Now, with more free time on her hands, she plans to pour more energy into these ventures and build them into something bigger.
Alaska Airlines Stays Silent on the Controversy
While Diala has been vocal about her experience, Alaska Airlines is keeping quiet. The company hasn’t released any details about her termination, simply stating that they do not comment on employee matters.
So far, social media reactions have been mixed—some people are backing Diala, saying she was just having fun, while others believe workplace professionalism needs to be taken more seriously.
