While appearing on a new episode of Bobbi Althoff’s ‘The Really Good Podcast,’ the women took turns “trauma dumping” and Rubi Rose said hers involves her ex talking her into doing OnlyFans.
Rubi Rose First Reveals DDG Convinced Her To Do OnlyFans During 2020 Pandemic
In January 2024, Rubi Rose first revealed that her ex-boyfriend, rapper DDG, convinced her to hop on OnlyFans for some extra income. At the time, she appeared on Logan Paul‘s podcast, ‘IMPAULSIVE,’ and made the revelation. Paul asked her if her coming on the show was to help boost her OnlyFans subscribers. The rapper said:
“I mean, my main focus—my sh*t grows every month. It’s gonna do what it does regardless. But, also, my Instagram, my Twitter, all that sh*t, it goes in tandem. Of course, I would hope it—I mean, my main focus isn’t my OnlyFans. It’s really like social media, in general, and I’ve got to keep my sh*t going.”
Paul again asks, “So, is it rapper first? Social media star first? Model?” Rubi Rose interjects:
“I don’t want to be known as an OnlyFans sex worker. Like, no. No, thank you. Please, guys… I do music. That’s what makes the most money, is my OnlyFans. But, I do do other things. My main focus isn’t that. I started OnlyFans in 2020 during COVID, during the pandemic. My ex did it, DDG. He started it first, and he told me to do it. People had been telling me to do it. I would, like, twerk on Instagram for fun already. I did that, dropped out of college, and moved to L.A. My life has just been going up since. I bought a couple of houses, some cars for myself, my friends and my family. Just, like, property. I’m very frugal.”
Rubi Rose Seemingly Laments Starting OnlyFans Years After DDG Convinced Her
During the March 28 episode of Bobbi Althoff’s ‘The Really Good Podcast,’ Rubi Rose “trauma dumps” with the host and others. On Althoff’s turn, she recalls landing a huge interview that skyrocketed her career and how she’s been chasing that high ever since, so to speak.
On Rubi Rose’s turn, the rapper says she empathizes with Althoff as she too has tried to remain relevant after starting an OnlyFans at the hand of her ex, DDG. She says:
“My trauma dump is I was talked into doing OnlyFans by my ex and it was cool for the first couple of years, but now I have to keep doing it. It’s definitely put a damper on my reputation. But, it’s a choice I made and I’m just going to stick it out.”

Rubi Rose Reveals Consequences She’s Faced Since Starting OnlyFans
Later in the episode, Bobbi Althoff asks Rubi Rose more about her OnlyFans career, including income. Althoff asks her how much she thought the podcaster would make if she launched an OF page. Rose says, “A f**k ton. I don’t see anything ever dwindling down…” Althoff then asks what Rose posts on her page. She admits, “I do whatever my supporters want me to do. Pictures, videos, voice notes, messages.”
Althoff asks how much she earns a month and Rose says, “It depends.” She adds, “In a horrible month, probably like 400,000.” Althoff slowly becomes convinced herself and says, “Okay. I need to do that.” Rubi Rose says, “I don’t like talking—I know you would never do it anyways—but I don’t like to influence people to do it. But, the reason why you would succeed is because you give innocent, but you’re probably f***ing freaky as f**k.” Althoff immediately drops her jaw and shyly asks, “What would I even post?”
Rubi Rose attempts to make some suggestions, but Althoff realizes that the rapper just told her about the consequences she’s faced since starting OnlyFans. Althoff says, “But, you said it messes with your image.” Rose replies, “Oh yeah, for sure. Especially, in my relationships. I feel like guys probably don’t take me as seriously ’cause ‘I’m on OnlyFans girl’ type of thing.”
