During a recent livestream, rappers DDG and Bia recalled collaborating on a song years ago and how one of his exes allegedly “had an issue” and blocked the release.
On Saturday (March 29), DDG reunited with Bia and Lakeyah on his livestream, and with their friends, they played unreleased music, and more. At one point during the stream, Bia asks DDG if he remembered doing a song a while back but it never dropped.
She said, “Remember that song that you made years ago? But you never put it out?” She further disclaimed, “But, don’t play it, though.” DDG acknowledged remembering the song and not wanting to play it at the moment. As he started loudly laughing, another person in the room also recalled it and said that it was meant for an older album.
Bia agreed and added, “Yeah, he didn’t put it out because somebody told him, ‘Oh, don’t put that out.’” DDG remembered and said, “Yeah. We can talk about it.” Bia declined, claiming it was DDG’s story to tell and not hers. She said, “It’s not my business. It’s not my tea.” DDG continued to press and ask, “Do you want me to talk about it?”
Finally, Bia said, “I don’t want you to do a damn thing. That’s your motherf***ing business, bro.” DDG continued to repeatedly ask Bia if she wanted to talk about it. While she tried to stray away, everyone else in the room instigated the duo to talk about it.
DDG Slams Report Claiming He And Bia Suggested Halle Bailey Blocked Their Song From Releasing
Ultimately, DDG went for it and said, “So, basically. The song was like—.“ Bia interjected and said, “‘Cause I didn’t know it was an issue until way later. I just asked, ‘Why the song don’t come out?’ And then you said…,” Bia threw her hands up and let DDG take over the storytelling. He chimed in and said, “I was in a relationship at the time. Me and her did a song, but the song was kind of like…”
Lakeyah asked, “Freaky?” DDG replied, “In a way.” Bia disagreed and said, “It wasn’t really freaky. It was just like, ‘I need a boss b***h.’” DDG clarified, “No, it was the verse.” Bia countered and said, “One thing about me, don’t ask me to get on a song if you’re gonna have a problem with how I [rap].” DDG said he didn’t have a problem with the verse. Bia added, “He liked the verse.” She further claimed, “Still, it’s the fact that if we let it fly at that time…,” DDG added, “It would’ve went.” She agreed, “It would’ve been fine. It would’ve been cool.”
Social media immediately began speculating which ex blocked DDG and Bia’s song. They initially accused his most recent ex-girlfriend and son’s mother Halle Bailey. However, other social users mostly presumed it was actually fellow rapper Rubi Rose. DDG later slammed a report claiming he and Bia were indirectly naming Bailey.
