The Atlanta Police Department has arrested 31-year-old Demetria Spence, who identified herself as the woman who called 911 about an “abused woman” hours before the death of rapper Young Scooter.
A day after police released the 911 call in the death of Young Scooter, born Kenneth Edward Rashaad Bailey, officials have now arrested the woman whose 911 call led to a police chase and the rapper’s death.
As we previously shared, on Friday (March 28), Young Scooter not only celebrated his 39th birthday, but he tragically died the same day. Hours before his death, a woman called 911 to report seeing a beaten and bloody woman. She also said two men dragged her into a residence in the 200 block of William Nye Drive in Southeast Atlanta.
When police arrived, they did not discover any of this. However, after a light foot chase, they found Scooter with a leg injury. They rushed him to Grady Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Despite rumors circulating online about Scooter dying in a police-involved shooting, on Tuesday (April 1), the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office said he died after cutting his right thigh on a wooden fence causing “marked” blood loss. They added, “This injury was not a gunshot wound.”
Amid the reports, a woman named Demi Blanco identified herself online as the 911 caller in Scooter’s death. She went live on Instagram before deactivating her account and said she did not set anyone up. She said:
“I was physically abused so I called [911] to protect myself. I never had any intention on getting anybody hurt. I was the one that was getting hurt.”
