As we previously shared, Halle Bailey filed for a restraining order against DDG, born Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr. She claims she had a frightening physical attack involving the rapper and YouTuber, who’s also the father of her 1-year-old son, Halo Granberry. In her police report, Bailey claims things turned dangerous in January, months after they split in October 2024.

Bailey claims DDG came to pick up their son and she tried to calmly set up a visitation schedule. However, she claims DDG decided not to listen and snap on her. As she secured their son in her car seat, Bailey says DDG repeatedly yelled at her, “Get out of my car, B*TCH.” She says the energy was so chaotic, Halo began crying the backseat. Despite this, DDG allegedly escalated things, leaving Bailey feeling unsafe.

She then claims things turned physical and DDG allegedly pulled her hair, slammed her face into the steering wheel, chipping her tooth. She recalled being in pain, in tears, and emotionally wrecked. Despite the chaotic incident, Bailey says, out of concern for her son’s safety, she remained in the car as they drove to DDG’s house.

Upon arrival, Bailey says she explained the incident to DDG’s family. They allegedly promised to look after Halo and she left, bruised, emotionally shaken up, and deeply hurt. In her court documents, Bailey included photos of bruises on her arms, her chipped tooth, and text messages between she and singer Brent Faiyaz — which allegedly caused DDG to go off in another incident.

Bailey also made it clear that the car incident wasn’t a simple bad argument — it was abuse, forcing her to speak out and take back her power. In her restraining order documents, Bailey also requested sole legal and physical custody of heir son Halo.

Bailey asked a judge to suspend DDG’s visitation with Halo and only permit supervised visits. She also asks that these visits be limited to once a week, for six hours, and under the supervision of a professional company while Halo is in Los Angeles, California. Bailey further asks the court to prevent DDG from taking their son outside of Los Angeles County or moving him without written consent, to “prevent abduction.”

If granted permission to travel with Halo, Bailey wants DDG to provide his full itinerary, along with copies of round-trip airline tickets, contact info, and an open return flight ticket for her if Halo isn’t brought back. Supporting her requests, Bailey highlights that DDG not only has an alleged history of abusing her, but also taking their son and hiding him from her, in addition to outright failing to cooperate as a co-parent.

DDG Appears Somber On First Stream Since Halle Bailey’s Abuse Claims And Restraining Order

A judge has since issued a temporary order until a June hearing. In it, DDG is to stay away from both Halle Bailey and their 17-month-old son, halo. He’s also been banned from possessing any weapons. The aforementioned restrictions remain in affect until their scheduled court hearing on June 6. At that time, the judge may extend the protective order for up to five more years.

When the news first broke, DDG appeared to act shocked and unaware of Halle Bailey’s abuse claims in her restraining order. However, on Wednesday (May 14), he tweeted, “I’m chillin btw.. i have no worries streaming later on, no days off!” DDG did end up streaming, but he cut his session short, clearly appearing somber and upset. He tried to fight through the claims and pain while doing a giveaway with his hundreds of thousands of fans. Ultimately, he did it and cut the stream short.

DDG’s Brother, Sister, And Mother React To Halle Bailey’s Abuse Claims And Restraining Order

On Tuesday (May 13), DDG’s mother Tonya Granberry first broke her silence and told Instagram, “I don’t usually comment or say anything on this internet, even with all the negativity, the lies, and hatred towards mine. However, these accusations have made me realize that I have been quiet too long.”

Following suit, DDG’s older brother, Dajaun “DuB” Bridge, also addressed the drama. During a livestream, he broke down into tears. He in-part said, “It’s crazy to say, but to be in honest, this n***a has never been able to just get Halo. So now, it’s virtually impossible for him to do it.” He continued to discuss the behind the scenes back-and-forth between DDG and Halle Bailey, and him being caught in the middle.

Elsewhere, DDG’s younger sister, Tiarra, aka “Tee Tee,” Tee posted a message on her Instagram Story that read, “The devil is working, but GOD is working harder 🙏🏽❤️.” She also addressed the reports about DDG and Halle on a stream and said, “I’m not going to speak on it.”
