Tyler Perry Accused of Sexual Assault By ‘The Oval’ Star Derek Dixon
Tyler Perry is facing some heavy allegations — and they’re coming straight from within his own creative empire. Actor Derek Dixon, known for appearing on Tyler Perry’s hit series The Oval, has filed a staggering $260 million lawsuit accusing the media mogul of sexual assault, battery, and workplace harassment.
According to TMZ, Derek claims the two first connected back in 2019 at an event where Perry allegedly approached him personally, asked for his number, and hinted at casting him in a future role. Not long after, that promise turned into reality, as Dixon landed a small part on Ruthless, appearing in two episodes.

But behind the scenes, Dixon says the vibe was anything but professional.
“Tyler crawled into bed with him, started rubbing his thighs, and despite Derek rejecting his advances, Tyler kept coming back with interest.”
Dixon says the first red flag went down after he spent a night at Perry’s home. He’d been drinking and became too intoxicated to function, and that’s when the alleged encounter took place. Feeling stuck between his safety and his career, Derek says he tried to play it cool and told Perry he wasn’t “the sexual type” — but deep down, he was terrified that if he pushed back too hard, his shot in the industry would vanish.

Then, according to Derek, Perry grabbed him by the throat and said:

The emotional toll of the alleged incident has led Dixon to pursue claims of quid pro quo harassment, sexual assault, and workplace abuse. He’s seeking $260 million in damages.
Tyler Perry’s Team Calls It a “Scam”
Tyler Perry’s attorney, Matthew Boyd, didn’t hold back in his response to the allegations. Speaking with TMZ, Boyd issued the following statement:
“This is an individual who got close to Tyler Perry for what now appears to be nothing more than setting up a scam. But Tyler will not be shaken down and we are confident these fabricated claims of harassment will fail.”
