A 67-year-old Wisconsin man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting his wife during an argument that started because he hadn’t bathed in two months.
According to Law&Crime, Michael Navrotsky was taken into custody on Sunday at his home in Kenosha. The criminal complaint reveals that his wife, 68-year-old Kimberly Navrotsky, confronted him about his hygiene and told him to take a shower because she didn’t want him sleeping “on her clean sheets.” That conversation allegedly escalated into a violent altercation.
Kimberly told officers that as the fight got heated, she became scared that Michael might attack her, so she pushed him away. That’s when he allegedly began to hit her. She ran to a neighbor’s house for help, and police were called to the scene.
Officers reported visible injuries to Kimberly’s face, including what appeared to be a broken nose. Michael claimed he acted in self-defense, but police stated that Kimberly’s version of events matched her injuries and was more consistent overall.
Suspect Allegedly Suffers From Early-Onset Dementia
Adding to the concern, Kimberly told police that Michael had been previously diagnosed with onset dementia and sometimes displayed delusional behavior. She also mentioned that he refused treatment over the past year.
The criminal complaint lists multiple charges against Michael Navrotsky, including:
- Substantial battery
- Strangulation and suffocation
- Domestic abuse intimidation of a victim
- Misdemeanor disorderly conduct
He is currently being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on July 1.
